After WideVine installation Brave is completely broken

Description of the issue: After allowing the install of widevine plugin, it has completely ruined my browser. No graphics will load and I cannot clear cache because of this, I cannot disable the plugin because of this either.

I’ve uninstalled Brave and completely removed it’s files from my system. I’ve also removed anything dealing with widevine. I’ve also installed chromium widevine through AUR to see if it would resolve my issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install Brave
  2. Install widevine plugin when prompted (allow)
  3. Close and reopen Brave

Expected result: Brave to continue working with widevine, or at least not completely brick my install

Brave Version( check About Brave):
OS: Manjaro 22.1.3 Talos
Kernel: x86_64 Linux 6.1.31-1-MANJARO
Browser: Version 1.52.117 Chromium: 114.0.5735.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I ended up just reimaging, so going to consider this “resolved”

Could you explain that a bit more? Curious what you did so if others have issue. I know some had experienced something similar and they just deleted GPUCache and it resolved. Trying to see if you basically did the same thing or something a bit different

Full partition wipe and reinstalled Manjaro entirely.
