After tab close, focus should return to tab on the left, not tab on the right

This is a usability issue…

Let’s say I have 5 tabs open (T1, T2, T3… etc) and I’m working in T3.

I click on a hypertext link in T3 which then opens a new tab that we’ll call T3A. T3A then appears to the right of T3 between T3 and T4. All fine so far…

I then close T3A and expect the tab focus to return to T3 (the tab to the left), except it doesn’t. It always returns to T4 (the tab on the right)

Please either make this the default behaviour, or make it a configurable option.

Hi @LogaRhythm,

You can set closing tab behavior in Preferences > Tabs. I think Parent tab or Last viewed tab will work for your case.

Ok, thanks.

Mine was set to “Select its parent tab”, but this reverts to the tab on the right (T4 in my example) which has no relationship either to the tab that was just closed (T3A), or the tab within which I clicked to open the new tab (T3)

Setting it to “Select last viewed tab” does acheive what I need. However, it appears that the logic behind “Select its parent tab” is broken…
