Ads are blocked despite I didn't request it

Description of the issue:

When I open a new tab, I see like: 58 Ads Blocked, despite “Ads and trackers blocked” set to off for sites. I never has set ad blocking on (even for a single site).

Why ads are blocked? How to unblock them?

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

Ubuntu Linux 19.10.
Version 0.63.48 Chromium: 74.0.3729.108 (Official Build) (64-bit).

@porton,
Thats because of Brave’s default Shields settings. We have help documentation that may help explain this.

But I have “Ad Control” set to “Allow ads and tracking”!

@porton,
That’s my bad – I misread your initial post.
Can you visit https://reddit.com/ and display your Shields panel for me, as shown below?

Yes:

@porton,
Please note that the total blocked number refers to the sum total of all elements blocked on the webpage. Observe your Device recognition setting in the image you shared above:

Brave is blocking some page element attempting to read device information (likely screen size so the website can display correctly, in this case). The 1 in the total blocked count reflects the number of items blocked as intended.
