Description of the issue:
I have “Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar” turned off and I am using the default Google search engine.
Nonetheless, when I start to type something that I’d expect to show up in my bookmarks, I’m given a list of domains that I’ve never visited or bookmarked instead.
For example, if I type “vo” to match a bookmark beginning with “vo” I instead get:
lenovo.com
Or if I type, “ad” I get:
adcash.com
adobe.com
This stuff isn’t bookmarked and it isn’t in my history. How can I turn it off?
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Turn off “Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar”
- Type “vo” or “ad” (or whatever) into the address bar
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Useless domains that are not bookmarked or in your history are presented to you, instead of what you’d actually expect from your bookmarks.
Expected result:
Don’t ever display results in the search bar that aren’t in your bookmarks or history if you have the predictive service turned off.
Reproduces how often:
Consistently, every time.
