"Add to Microsoft To Do" extension requesting access on each NEW website

Description of the issue:
I have the “Add to Microsoft To Do” extension already installed and working almost fine:

The problem is that every time I go to a “new” site the extension appears listed under the “Access requested” section on the extensions button and I need to enter my login info again.

I am using the latest version of both Brave and the extension.

I am attaching my extension “Details” here:

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open any site
  2. Extension asks for login
  3. Log in
  4. Extension works fine
  5. Open ANOTHER site
  6. Extension asks for login again
  7. Repeat :slight_smile:

Expected result:

One time login.
The extension should not ask to log in every time I open a new site.

Reproduces how often:

Every time I open a new site and try to use the extension.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

SYSTEM
macOS Sierra, Version 10.12.6

BRAVE

I would try visiting todo.microsoft.com, logging in, then changing the cookies setting in the Shields panel (lion icon in the address bar) to All cookies allowed, then test and see if the issue persists.

Wow! That was soooo easy!
It seems to be working properly now (I am saying this with caution because I am still afraid of Murphy’s laws). :wink:

Hey Mattches!

Remember my friend Murphy? Well, he’s gonna be your friend too… :joy:

The problem is back. Maybe because I restarted the browser?
I checked the lion’s icon and your suggested configuration is still there.

Also, I am always logged into Microsoft To Do because:

  • I have the “New Tab Page” set to “Dashboard”.
  • I have the To Do icon there as a favorite
  • I just click the icon and I am inside To Do without issues

Any idea? :grinning:

Testing the extension, in a new profile. Was able to add 3 sites to the todo list via the extension.

  • Checked via the website http://todo.microsoft.com/ also to confirm my additions were saved.
  • Restarted the browser, Extension was still logged in.

Just relogin again? @314

Hey fanboy!

This is kind of embarrassing… :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I did not login again or anything. I just went out for a walk, shut down the mac, came back, opened a bunch of “random” sites (meaning, not in my history, cookies etc) and the extension is logged in again and working fine.

No idea what happened.
Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned Murphy on my first reply. He was listening! :joy:

Cookies expire, cookies aren’t permanent. So logins may need to occur now and then. Good to see its working :slight_smile:

Hi fanboy,

Sorry to bother you again… :disappointed_relieved:

Now that you said “cookies expire”, I paid attention and it seems I need to login every day.

I am not a native English speaker but “now and then” sounds more appealing to me than “every day”. :grinning:

The solution @Mattches provided certainly made things better. Is there any way to force Brave keep or recreate the cookies info at startup? Sorry if this is a silly question.

Another info, just in case.

I had installed the To Do extension on Edge (for mac) long time ago, tried it and disabled it.
Today, I enabled the extension again and it was up and running, without asking to log in.
