Add search engine in ubuntu and Presearch extension don't work

Hello,

Description of the issue:
I want to add presearch as search engine via (add search engine in settings) or via extension, both do not work.

How can this issue be reproduced?

Via this: https://support.presearch.org/support/solutions/articles/33000258239-how-do-i-set-presearch-as-my-default-search-engine-

  1. The browser extension just doesn’t work
  2. If I go for the second option (via adding search engine, the button ‘add’ is unclickable, I can only click the ‘cancel’ button after entering the URL

Expected result:
Th expected result would be that the extension or the adding works. Other extension (Deepl) works fine.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Versie 1.36.116

Additional Information:

Hope you can figure out the problem.
Thnx

Here is another topic with a similar issue that may help.

If you can provide a screenshot of the options that would be great!

Try this.

Go to Settings/Search Engines/Manage Search Engines. Add a new Search Engine. This should open the “Add Search Engine” window. Fill in as follows:
Name - Presearch
Keyword - :pr
URL with %s in place of query - https://engine.presearch.org/search?q=%s

Save then click the 3 dots to the right and make this your default search engine.

This did it for me.

Also make sure you delete all old “Presearch” entries. For some reason I had to make another search engine (I used Qwant) the default before I could see some of the old (failed) entries.
