Hi, I have the same problem.
It seems that, YOUTUBE, did something to annoy ad blocker users.
Personally, I’m waiting for a solution from BRAVE…

We all need to understand this is like a war: I made a better weapon and you made a better shield and start again…

I noticed today on my laptop that youtube take a long pause before each video now, then displays an Ad.

One workaround - If I refresh the page while it is pausing, it plays immediately, no Ads!

Another workaround - if I log out of YouTube, then I get no ads at all, no pausing, no problems whatsoever.

Still another workaround - no problems at all on my Android phone, even when logged in!

not a solution, just Youtube didn’t mess with it yet …

Having the same issue now on 1.73.104 Chromium: 131.0.6778.204 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Have run manual updates on everything, no joy

They don’t work for me, I get a warning that I can’t use adblockers.
I have none installed, I hope Brave can make another fix!

same for me 289wk. Brave was working fine on you tube late last night no problems. But this morning I got a notice I have to unblock ads on you tube. I also notice my local digital paper will not even let me see the main page unless I allow their ads, and when looking at instructions to unblock ads, the procedure for Brave was specifically mention which I had never seen, anywhere.

An update -Brave/youtube still works fine on my Android, no ads, no issues.

But it’s much worse no on laptop. Refreshing doesn’t fix the problem and even choosing “allow YoutTube ads” doesn’t work!

If I turn off Brave shields in Youtube on my laptop, I can get the video to play, but an Ad immeditately plays - for an Adblock software company!! :upside_down_face:

Same here. Brave is not blocking Youtube anti-adblock anymore. I switched to Brave because of effective pop-up and anti-adblock blocking.

I am running into the problem today that youtube is displaying the block screen demanding I configure my browser to their likings - as if they have any rights to dictate how I configure MY equipment!

I’m finding that if I sign out of youtube, the blocks work, I can view videos without ads.

I’m finding if I sign back in, the problem is back, youtube blocks.

I find if I switch to another youtube account that’s under the same gmail account, the block once again works.

It is somehow identifying I’m blocking ads on one youtube account, but not another, even though both accounts are under the same gmail account.

Please advise.

Hey all. Generally clearing cookies from YouTube and making sure everything is updated at brave://components does the trick. That’s assuming it’s not an extension of yours causing the problem. Keep in mind some extensions have multiple purposes, such as Enhancer for YouTube or umm…I can’t remember the name but it was a VPN thing that also had an adblocker thing as part of it as well which triggered stuff.

I’m still not having any issues watching YouTube but they change things up at random to try to battle adblockers. If it’s due to any recent changes, just have to hang tight as things get checked.

What you can always do is try checking in a private window or a new profile to see if it happens there. If so, then generally lets you know it’s just something in your extensions or cookies.
