Description of the issue:
Before we type any address in the Firefox address bar, it says ‘Search with Google or enter address’. No matter how many times we minimize and maximize Firefox, the text written in the Firefox address bar remains there. Just as we left the window before minimizing, this is how it is after maximizing. There is nothing that grabs your attention, not even for 1 second or half a second. The address bar of Firefox is simply waiting for us to type what we want, without distractions.
In Brave’s address bar, it says ‘Search Brave or type a URL’. If we minimize and maximize, we will see this text for 1 second or half and then it disappears. Especially in my case where I have disabled the system effects for minimize and maximize, it is easy to see this. Because the applications close and open faster, without any effect. Seeing this text even for 1 or half a second and then disappearing, every time I minimize and maximize, this is a distraction.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Disable operating system effects for minimize and maximize (optional).
- Open Brave.
- Open the Brave dashboard if you are not already in it.
- Make sure the text cursor is in the address bar and waiting for your search.
- Now minimize and maximize the window several times. Try doing it at a fast pace and then try at a slow pace.
Expected result:
Simply show the text ‘Search Brave or type a URL’ with the text cursor waiting for us to do our search, without this text appearing and disappearing and drawing our attention. Alternatively, don’t show the text at all.
Brave Version:
1.63.174
Additional Information:
I use Fedora 40 KDE and I disabled the effects for minimize and maximize.
