About difference between BAT and BAT POINTS

Hi, I want to know about the difference between BAT and BAT POINTS.

Rewards summary says:
BAT Points can be used in Brave Rewards to contribute to your favorite content creators. BAT Points cannot be exchanged for BAT.

namely, its possible to earn BAT POINTS but inpossible to earn BAT through using BRAVE browser?

In short, AFAIK BAT Point (BAP) is used in the country/ies where cryptocurrency is strictly regulated.
