A key combination (for strikeout) in Proton Docs works in Safari but not in Brave

The key combination used in Proton Docs to apply strikeout to text (cmd-shift-s) works in Safari but not in Brave (even after a system restart).

Bold, italics and underline all work normally using the standard keystrokes for those attributes: cmd-b, cmd-i, cmd-u

Can this be looked into by Brave team?

Thanks.

Brave v.1.69.168 Chromium: 128.0.6613.138 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Mac OS Catalina (v.10.15.7)

Does using the Cmd + Shift + S keystroke do anything? I believe on macOS, this should be the keyboard shortcut for the screenshot tool.

Nothing. No response. Cmd-shift-5 opens screenshot in Mac OS.

Seems to be working for me just fine. Created account, opened new doc, Cmd + Shift + S formats the text properly:

I would check brave://settings/system/shortcuts and ensure that that particular keystroke is not assigned to some other command. An extension you have installed may also be hijacking the command.

Thanks. Didn’t find it in system shortcuts but did in ‘keyboard shortcuts’ at brave://extensions (left side panel, under ‘My extensions’), identified as a Brave shortcut to suspend/unsuspend tabs. Is that a factory default? – I don’t recall creating it.

Anyway, now strikeout works. Thanks a lot for looking into it.

Q: Don’t key combinations in apps normally take precedence over system or browser key combinations that use the same keys?

Depends on the keystroke and the focus. Typically that’s the case but not always. Either way glad you were able to get this working :+1:
