I’ve got a recommendation to use Brave browser and it’s quite cool for the first hours of using…
My questions are to rewards:
When I block ads on all sites, there are no rewards. Is it right?
1.1. So I need to agree with showing ads as I see them in standard browser. In the other words, when I’m protected from ads (ads are blocked), there are no rewards. What is typical reward for one website with ad protexction set to off? When I see 10 pages of that website (home/contact/about/article1/article2/etc., 10 times ad are shown) reward is calculated for each one ad showing, or once per server? Is reward added after any interaction to ad, ad visibility duration, etc.?
Then in the menu I see ‘Notification ads: up to X per hour’. Where and how these ads are showing? What is aprox. budget for 1 showed (or clicked?) ad?
In the settings I see ‘New tab page ads’: what type of ad is it and when/where are shown?
The last one, ‘Brave News ads’, dtto, when/where they are shown?
Rewards aren’t my top priority, I prefer websites without ads, just want to understand how this system work. And maybe for any my friends rewards could be relevant. Is there any aprox. amount of reward for that (eg. 0.001 BAT for message with Brave ad, 0.004 BAT for notification with ad, etc.?)
No, ads you see on websites have nothing to do with Rewards. You can and should keep Shields up and have those blocked.
The X per hour is for notification ads only. And it is the maximum amount and isn’t a guarantee how many you’ll get. Notification ads show in your notification center overall, though newer Brave versions are starting to show as a little temporary window that you can drag to any place along the edge of your browser.
Pay varies. Often we can use https://sampson.codes/brave/ads/my_region/ to see ad campaigns in your area. If you need help understandng it a bit better, I have an old topic on it at , which OS they are available on, the maximum times you can view those ads, which type of ad they are, how much they pay, etc.
perfect info for me, Shield is the main reason why to use Brave for me.
I’m not doing it for BATs, notifications turned off. It was just for info.
& 4. thx for link, I’ll check it.
My region for targeting ads depends on my real target location? On system language? Let’s say I’m Czech who lives in Italy, system main language is Czech/English. Ads will be Italian?
And many thanks for your last link too, I’ll check it.
Regards,
P.
PS. I just need more info before I recommend whatever to someone else. But the first hours with Brave browser without Ads are simply perfect And info about rewards are for others as a benefit during they browse websites…
