When I start guest mode I assume it will be empty of my settings, bookmarks etc. Then why is the dial shared and my non-standard exclusions are given there?
The same on another profile also shares dials, these non-standard records.
go to the shield settings and you will see the same exclusion as in normal mode
Expected result:
No additional exclusions of mine in guest mode.
It would be good to be able to permanently select that the visitor starts without a shield, because youtube, for example, bans videos if you show that you are blocking adverts.
I would have such a browser for viewing internet resources as they are in guest mode if it were possible to disable the default dials permanently in this mode.
Or if not in guest mode then another profile that I can turn off the dials permanently and it will not affect the other profile.

@szymon can you be more specific about what you mean when you say “exclusions”? I had assumed you meant that if you change Shields settings for a site in your normal profile window, you’ll see those same settings reflected in the Guest window. But I’m not actually seeing that on my end – Shields settings/changes start off with their default configuration in the Guest window.
What I mean by this is that the shield profile for the profile should be created along with the profile creation. Because now the shield does not depend on the profile use brave://settings/shields/filters together.
Can’t this be separated somehow?
At least it works if I switch off on x page in profile1 then on x page in profile2 I still have the dial on.
It also seems to work that when I disable “Block tracking scripts and adverts” on profile1, I still have it set as standard on profile2.
The thing is, how do I want to have a profile where everything is default i.e. without remembered passwords, history, bookmarks and content filtering settings in the shield on another profile. To have one to show where there is nothing private.
Apologies but I’m still unclear on exactly what you’re asking here.
When you launch a Guest profile, all settings should be set to default as if the browser was never used before. This is what I see in both macOS and Windows systems when I launch a guest profile.
If I were to reproduce the issue you’re describing, can you share the exact steps (numbered, ideally) I can follow to reproduce it?
I go to brave://settings/shields/filters in both profiles
3 I uncheck the ‘EasyList Cookie’ in profile2 and give it an update of the lists
on profile1 while in brave://settings/shields/filters I refresh and ‘EasyList Cookie’ is also unchecked.
Same as
3. in profile2 under “Create custom filter” I delete the content and save the changes
4. in profile1 in brave://settings/shields/filters I give a refresh then my entries from “Create Custom Filter” disappear
I don’t know if it’s only on Linux that this is the case.
I’m testing between profiles and not specifically the guest account because on the guest end it didn’t save the setting that it should display ads it’s ‘Block tracking scripts and ads’ set to ‘Disabled’, and between profiles it seems to remember that.
