Hello Brave Team and Community,
I’m consistently encountering an unexpected “413 Payload Too Large” error (generated by CloudFront) when trying to perform normal search queries in Brave Search.
The full error message I receive is:
413 ERROR The request could not be satisfied. Bad request. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner. If you provide content to customers through CloudFront, you can find steps to troubleshoot and help prevent this error by reviewing the CloudFront documentation. Generated by cloudfront (CloudFront) Request ID: 7KGMFluQYsba-sYXcxYTGxgnURlpKymK28Mb2pmpZEs7TeIcCZ3-Vw==
What makes this issue particularly unusual is that my search query at the time of the error was only 27 characters long, which should be well within any reasonable size limit.
I have already performed the following troubleshooting steps on my end and can confirm they haven’t resolved the issue:
- Cleared browser cache and cookies.
- Attempted the search in Incognito mode.
- Disabled and tested all browser extensions.
- Temporarily disabled VPN/proxy (if applicable).
- Restarted my network connection (router).
Since all local causes have been ruled out and the query was so short, I believe this points to a server-side issue with Brave Search or CloudFront.
Could you please look into this? The provided Request ID
should help you locate the incident in your logs.
Thank you for your support!
Best regards,
