Description of the issue: Both computers were disconnected from Uphold when I got back from vacation. Logged in main computer, and it’s fine. However logging in second work computer says I am flagged. Go back to first computer, says it’s fine. How can the account be flagged on only one computer, and why would be flagged if I’m just trying to sync up again?
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3. Attempt to reconnect and it says flag
Type of devices currently running on the Sync chain in question: right now 1 computer and 1 phone, but 2nd comp is the problem.
Additional Information: This is the same issue that happened when i first tried to sync my phone. Back then I asked if it’s going to do this each time I attempt to set up a new device. You said know, well it does look like this is the case. For me at least.
Indeed, after recent changes all your devices should be flagged. Well, assuming they are both connected to the same custodial partner. So that would be weird behavior. It could be the one is flagged and you’re just not getting the trigger for it yet.
It has nothing to do with “syncing up again.” Being flagged means the system detected what it sees as suspicious behavior that might be violation of Terms. As a result it suspends your account(s) and prevents you from earning more BAT. You can appeal this by submitting a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 and they’ll investigate. Upon their investigation they’ll determine whether they want to reinstate your account.
If reinstated, it could mean they are giving a “second chance” or it might mean it was a false positive that triggered the flag. They won’t tell you which one. And if not reinstated, they won’t explain why. They’ll just let you know they investigated and upon review, a decision was made not to reinstate your account.
Absolutely no reason to be flagged in the first place. Only happens when I try to reconnect to either phone or 2nd computer. never happens on main computer. Nothing suspicious about having more than one device in your home. No reason at all for the flag. It’s annoying, and it’s old.
Like I said, it should also happen on your main computer. It used to be just per device, whichever profile had issues. But new change flags all connected devices at the same time. So if that’s not happening yet, you’re either bugged or you just got lucky. Regardless, I’d do the support ticket so they can look into it.
