2FA Security Key not supported in mobile browser

Description of the issue:
Can’t use security key for 2FA in mobile brave browser. Options are greyed out and not available.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Login to an account with 2FA set with FIDO2 security key
  2. During 2FA, select “other options”.
  3. Security key option is greyed out with “This feature is not supported by this browser” message.

Expected result:
Ability to select Security Key as a 2FA option.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave 1.75.178; Chromium 133.0.6943.98

Mobile Device details
Android 15; Build/AP4A.250205.002.C1
Pixel 9 Pro

Additional Information:
Businesses are removing SMS and callback capabilities of 2FA due to security concerns and requiring users to use either the Push notifications or a FIDO2 security key. All other options are being disabled.

I’m locked out of my business accounts on my mobile device and will have to switch to Chrome as my default browser in the meantime.

Issue was created in 2019 and seemed to have been resolved in 2022, but not sure why it’s a problem again. I am able to select other 2FA options, but they will be going away soon (with the exception of push notifications). The push notification is available, but I’d prefer to not use that.
