2 windows open when clicking email link

#1

Clicking on a link in my email opens 2 Brave browser windows. One has the website from the link in the email, the other window is my home page. This just started today.
I am on Windows 10

Brave 0.20.29
V8 6.4.388.40
rev 4fc3c8f
Muon 4.7.9
OS Release 10.0.16299
Update Channel Release
OS Architecture x64
OS Platform Microsoft Windows
Node.js 7.9.0
Brave Sync v1.4.2
libchromiumcontent 64.0.3282.119

I checked settings and I don’t have it set for 2 windows or 2 tabs to open. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I get two windows anytime I open a link from anywhere except in Brave, email, keyboard shortcut, link inside a different program (such as to their website), etc. The first has my home pages and the second has the linked-to site.

Thanks for additional info @wyvern. Seems like you all face this issue?

#13

I just downloaded it on a brand new PC and the same thing happens!!

#14

With this new version when it opens 2 windows, one of the windows is the window from the previous session.

#15

When I open Brave it opens the last page from another browser!!

#16

EDIT: This problem is solved as of the most recent update. Thank you.

Yes, two windows continues. Brave opens one window to my chosen home page (DuckDuckGo) and one to the page targeted by a link from email or doc.

Thanks for addressing this.

Yes and yes. Typing some extra text to get beyond 20 characters so I can submit this answer… BTW, a really really really really really really really annoying pop up in this comment box comes up with every key press until 20 characters are reached.
