1.78.94 Android Crashes on Launch

Description of the issue:
After updating, Brave browser crashes on launch. “Manage storage” setting is also inaccessible, as it crashes. I am able to briefly see an address bar on a blank screen before it crashes.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Download brave Arm64Universal APK from Github.
  2. Install and launch.
  3. Crashes within 5 seconds.

Expected result:
Brave launches normally without any issues.

1.78.94

Additional Information:
I used to have a lot of tabs open, like more than 500, and it was very laggy, so I bookmarked all the tabs and closed them a while ago, but it still has the occasional glitch, like forgetting the latest open tabs and stuttering. I currently have more than 100 tabs open before I updated, as I remember the tab counter just showing a ‘:)’.

If an update could be provided that fixes the issue, so my bookmarks are not lost, I would very much appreciate it.

Update: I managed to access and backup the bookmarks on my PC, as I had it synced on there before I reinstalled Windows. By restoring the profile data on a fresh test profile, I was able to access my bookmarks again.

So, the situation is much less dire, but Brave on Android still won’t launch, and I would much prefer Brave working there.

Resolved after updating to 1.78.96.

Brave Beta on Android started crashing a few releases ago as well. I stupidly have been using it as my main browser and haven’t synced.

As of Version 1.79.97 it still won’t launch on my Samsung SM-G998U1 (Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G) even after clearing the cache.
